arrival in lisbon , walking tour of the jewish site , visiting shaarei tikva shul , strolling through the streets of the Chiado neighbourhood , visiting plaza comercial ,shopping time in the district , dinner in hotel

Day 2: Lisbon and Syntra
breakfast, short drive to Sintra town , exploring the city centre , visiting Palacio de la Pena , lunch, trip to Cascais , visiting the centre and the cosmopolitan port vilage,lastly visiting the Belem district

Day 3 OBIDOS, COIMBRA AND ARRIVING EVENING TO PORTO

short visit to the beautiful Village of Obidos, where you will have time to explore the city centre and ancient walls surrounding the town, feel the amazing atmosphere in Obidos, t, continue to Coimbra. Coimbra the University city, with its famous Library(that is considered one of the nicest libraries in the world), We will learn about the Jewish connection to this city. We will stroll down the narrow alleys of the city, and visit and hear the story of the old Mikveh accidentally found in the city centre.; heading to Porto where we will be staying the next 4 nights.

DAy 4 THE NORTHERN COAST OF PORTUGA

Day 5 FULL DAY PORTO

oday we will start with the Jewish heritage of porto, we will visit the museum and the old jewish Quarter, Then visit the centre of town and will have some free time to enjoy a nice cup of coffee or shopping or even another visit to the the river banks to see the beautiful and colourful city. shabbat preparatiobs

day 7 DUERO VALLEY, BELMONTE
driving towards the eastern border of Portugal. We will drive through and enjoy the fascinating views of the Douro River on our way to Belmonte. In this mountain village situated in the north of Portugal, we will find the last remaining community of conversos, also known as Belmonte Jews. They have been secretly practising their faith for over five hundred years, until their discovery in 1917. During the tour, we will get to meet some of the members of the Jewish community and visit the synagogue, as well as the Jewish Museum. Afternoon we will enjoy our beautiful hotel and Sunset, before Dinner.

DAY 8 AVILA AND MADRID

After breakfast we will check out and begin our journey to the magical town of àvila in Spain, known for its majestic Medieval walls that surround the town. We will visit the remains of the Jewish cemetery that was discovered only a few years ago. After this important visit we will start our drive to Madrid (1.5 hr) †“ Spain's majestic Capital since 1561. Arriving at the Busy Capital is always fun. We will have a panoramic tour of the city before exploring by foot the centre of town, we will visit and learn about the important monuments, before driving to our Hotel, which is in one of the most Aristocratic neighbourhoods in Madrid.

DAY 9 TOLEDO AND MADRID

45 minutes drive to the magical city of Toledo †“ "Jerusalem of the West†, one of the main centres of Sephardic Jewry in the Middle Ages and described as an open-air museum of Spanish history. Our walking tour will concentrate on sightseeing around the old Juderia. See El-Greco's house which used to be the home of Don Shmuel Halevy Abulafia (14th century), the king's Pedro el-Cruel wealthy treasurer. We will also visit the two ancient synagogues, today a museum: El-Transito and Shmuel Halevy's Mudejar synagogue (1356) considered to be the best-preserved Jewish monument of the pre-Inquisition period. drive back to Madrid and enjoy a fascinating guided tour of the Prado Museum.Dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 10 HOT AIR BALLOON OVER SEGOVIA, SEGOVIA AND MADRID

Hot Air Balloon ride over Segovia. Following our exciting ride , we will have a picnic Breakfast and continue to visit this magical city. Segovia is a World Heritage City, with unique sights: the Aquaduct, the old Jewish quarter, grand mansions, outstanding views and a green belt which is ideal for a pleasant stroll in the sunshine. We will have a guided tour before going back to Madrid, our last afternoon in the capital, will have some free time for Shopping, visit the Retiro park or visit any other of the amazing museums the city has to offer.Dinner in a local kosher restaurant..
