Chabad of Jamaica is the vibrant heart of Jewish life on the island, dedicated to serving the local community and the thousands of tourists who visit its tropical shores annually. Located in Montego Bay, the center operates a unique "Kosher Hot Spot" & Welcome Center right on the famous Hip Strip, providing a one-stop shop for everything Jewish—from authentic Israeli falafel and kosher jerk chicken to synagogue services and holiday celebrations.
The center is famous for its "Torah Under the Sun" classes and high-energy communal Shabbat dinners. Whether you are arriving on a cruise ship or staying at a luxury resort, Chabad Jamaica offers a welcoming "Home Away from Home" with a distinct Caribbean flavor.
Founded by Rabbi Yaakov and Mushkee Raskin in 2014, Chabad of Jamaica brought a permanent Chabad presence back to the island after decades of visiting rabbis. The Raskins have built a community that thrives on the island's "laid-back" spirit while maintaining uncompromising standards of Jewish tradition.
Getting There
Our primary Welcome Center & Kosher Hot Spot is located at Shop 1, Shops at Bay Harbour, 1-3 Gloucester Avenue (the "Hip Strip"), Montego Bay. This is directly across from Margaritaville and within walking distance of many major hotels like the S Hotel and Royal Decameron.
